Betsson crowned as the top winner of the evening
At the EGR Nordics Awards 2023, held last evening (Thursday, 24th February 2022) in Malta, Betsson Group was declared as the overall winner as it was the one and only operator that walked away with no less than 6 awards: Employer of the Year, Customer Service Operator, Marketing Campaign, Best Affiliate Programme of the Year, Sports Betting Operator and Operator of the Year.
These awards recognise the operators that stand out in what is an extremely competitive market. The judges look at commercial success, game-changing innovation, leading customer service, or marketing prowess and award those companies which have truly succeeded. The voting process of these awards was officiated by Deloitte that ensures that the judging process is completely transparent, and the winners clearly demonstrate the innovation and commercial success required to be rewarded with this honour.
Employer of the Year
This is a new award category for this year’s EGR Nordics Awards. This award recognises the operator that demonstrated its commitment to organisational performance improvement through investment in the recruitment, personal and skills development, and motivation of every individual employee. A special consideration was given to Betsson for showing evidence of a clear plan towards integrating a strong company culture right across the business.
When considering which operator was to win the award, the judges took into consideration; staff retention and employee engagement, positive leadership management, incentive and benefit schemes and quality training initiatives.
Customer Services Operator
The EGR Nordic Awards have been taking place since 2016 and since then, there has only been one operator that won the coveted ‘Customer services operator’ category – and that has always been Betsson Group. This year’s win marks the eighth consecutive year that Betsson Group was the best operator that demonstrated that it truly has the customer at the heart of its business.
Judges also looked at how the operator manages its resources to continuously improve its performance standards ensuring it can meet the needs of its entire customer base. They also scrutinised staff engagement in customer satisfaction strategy, the sort of training and development provided, the tools and frequency when quality was measured, and also on how this team is leaving an impact on (customer) retention.
This award recognises the company that has run the most innovative, intelligent and creative marketing campaign in the Nordics over the past year. Judges selected Betsson Group as a winner based on effective use of brand and contextual advertising along with other elements such as banner ads, affiliate programmes, use of SEO and viral marketing for a specific campaign. Besides looking at the most effective campaign in terms of ROI, other factors in selecting a winner were the financial performance of the campaign and its success in acquiring new customers. When rewarding Betsson for its Jalla Casino marketing campaign in Sweden, judges looked at innovation and originality of the campaign, at how Betsson made clever use of different channels, at the creativity of the campaign, and also at ROI, including growth in customer acquisition.
Best Affiliate Programme of the Year
For the second time, Betsson Group Affiliates (BGA) have won the Best Affiliate Programme category at the EGR Nordic Awards.
Whilst deliberating on a winner, the EGR Nordic Awards judges looked at the operator affiliate team that best demonstrated the use of innovative and effective marketing strategies to drive customers to their sites. Judges looked for programmes that made use of the full range of marketing tools available. From the onset, judges said that this was a highly competitive environment and that “evidence of strong affiliate partnerships and effective use of brand messaging” was pivotal in selecting BGA as the winner.
Sports Betting Operator
In the competitive sports betting field, this award recognises the operator that has been able to differentiate itself from its key Nordic-facing rivals through an excellent product offering, an effective marketing strategy and impressive global reach. Judges looked for an operator that has enjoyed consistent growth over the past year and demonstrated operational excellence in the region. When selecting Betsson Group as the ‘Best Sports Betting Operator of the Year’, judges looked at scale and growth, innovation and differentiation, quality of on and offline marketing, and last but not least at the quality of the product itself.
Operator of the Year
In the competitive casino market, this award recognises the casino operator that has been able to dominate the sector through their reach across the Nordic region and quality of their product. Entrants will be judged on the originality of their product, the strength of the brand and product, and the innovations which help to set them apart from their competitors. The judges also scrutinised the following aspects; growth and commercial success, innovation and differentiation, product quality, customer acquisition and retention strategies and the quality of the brand and their marketing efforts. The judges agreed that the only operator that ticked all the boxes was Betsson Group.
